cleaning and pumping
A big thank you goes out to Donnie Miller from Miller Septic Service!! He came over today and finished pumping the water out. No slime, no grime, no junk left in there. Only a few leaves that are stuck in the 3 foot section that will need power washed. We can't can't thank you enough!! Also a big shout out to Jim and Nancy McSweeney and Joan Rohde for spending their evening power washing half of the baby pool and half of the lawn furniture.
Thank you for your continued donations....

more donations
Thank you Thank you Thank you for the continued donations. I would like to thank Laura ( I did not catch your last name) who lives on Daugherty Dr. for taking time out of her day and walking door to door and asking for more donations. What commitment! I would also like to add that we had a 10 year old little girl give 20 dollars out of her Piggy bank and also a lady who grew up in Guyan Estates send money from NC! I feel that we are pulling together to make our community what is used to be. Jim McSweeney started to power wash the baby pool and lawn furniture today and will finish it tomorrow. I spoke with a lady today that said Wendy's is going to donate a box of mustard packs, ketchup packs, and napkins for our hot dog sale. We already had some donated prior to this but the shelf life is 9 months so we will be good on those condiments for our concession stand this summer. Thank you Wendy's!! We received 360 dollars of donations today.

Kim Gibson and Neva Gibson-25.00
Paul and Linda Morrison-25.00

Water & Donations

I personally want to thank everyone for all the work you have done to make our community a better place to live. You efforts Saturday and all the meetings, donations, ideas show that civic pride is not dead. again, thank you. As to the status of the plumbing in the pool buildings. On Sunday I was able to finish fixing the last leaks in the cold water only in the buildings. There is a problem with the meter that hopefully will be rectified tomorrow, Tuesday th 20th. If anyone is wanting to use the cold water for cleaning purposes, it must be turned on inside the utility room and at the meter. I hope that Tuesday I can leave the water on at the meter, as of now the leak at the meter prevents me from doilg that. The leak is minimal, however, so if anyone needs to use the water, contact me and I can turn it on. Again, thank all of you for your help. Please be patient with me and I will try to get the hot water leaks fixed a couple of evenings this week.

Clean Up day 2010
We are all staying very busy so please stay tuned and we'll get this site updated with the progress we have made this past week. Things are moving right along wonderfully as we continue to get things ready for the upcoming season. Thank you so much for the donations--they are helping us pay off debts and prepare for summer too. You will be seeing flyers soon for all of the pricing information on renting the community building and becoming a pool member. You will see more meeting minutes posted. We are moving as fast as we can go...doing this for our neighborhood all on the side of our lives-balancing this with our family and jobs, etc.
Meanwhile, go by your pool and check out the progress of clean up day 2010! Several volunteers-your neighbors-came together and worked hard Saturday April 17th to beautify and clean up the grounds. Trees were cleared behind the fence, multiple plumbing repairs were made (Thank you Hershel Marshall!), grasses were cut, tables were painted, bathrooms and concession cleaned...on and on this list could go. Just go see for yourself what was done in only one day. If anyone has a swing set they'd like to donate to replace the dangerous one we discarded...please email us at guyanestates@gmail.com
Photo Slide show coming soon...

Money talk
Do you realize at approximately 400 homes-- that if each home gave only $25.00 a year we would have $10,000?
If each home (averaging at 400 homes) gave only $100.00 a year ($8/month) we would have $40,000!
So far we have raised around $3,000.00...just from about 55 contributing households. If everyone would just give a little...all financial problems would be resolved!
Talk to your neighbors!
The impersonal hand of government can never replace the helping hand of a neighbor. ~Hubert H. Humphrey
