*Herschel Marshall gave us update on Water leaks (see previous blog entry for water report) More will be known after this week. Thank you Herschel for volunteering your time and skills to this large task. All cold water leaks in building fixed. (Note for hx: meter is 5/8 inch)
*Current Lifeguards planning to staff: Alyssa Morris, Christopher Adkins, Cameron Adkins, Will Lockwood, Cameron Eplion (part time). We need two more persons.
*State tax situation: DEBT: Total that we owe $2252.59. This does NOT include any accrued penalties/interest from the years 2005, 2008 and 2009. It does include the existing tax debts and penalties/interest from the other years. Final figure still being determined. These taxes must be paid prior to the expiration of our business license on 6-30-10. If they are not paid the registration with the state is revoked until payment is received.
*Chlorine Debt $1500.00-can be paid later and negotiated with that owner. This is not priority over tax/water debt.
* Water company debt-Awaiting response to negotiate past debt from 2008 for $946.15 (this does not include the debt we paid for 2009 $400.89)
*Insurance-current negotiations and quotes being determined. Average cost quote ~$2400/year. 40% down=$1000.00 or another quote possibility was a monthly insurance payment of $225.00. Quotes and estimates still being determined.
*Concrete & Safety: Wall erosion at concession stand. Structural engineer personally known by board member will assess situation.
*Consideration of hiring an accountant to manage pool business finances/taxes/etc. Meeting Monday May 3rd. Accountant made by personal recommendation of board member.
*Kristi Haney made a motion that Kristina Kish will draft membership flyer and email board members for review. All board members will correspond via email to final agreement and then begin circulation and distribution of new quotes on renting the community building and pool and season pass quotes.
* The new flyer will not sell "Memberships" but will title as "Season Pool Pass". This potentially will avoid future taxation legalities in the future.
